Showboat Branson Belle: Don’t Miss the Boat

I laughed. I cried. I ate too much.

If you’re looking for an authentically fun way to spend a few hours in the sometimes overly touristy Branson, Missouri, the Showboat Branson Belle is the place.

As a travel writer who visits a lot of vacation destinations, I tend to shy away from the ones that are too “gimmicky.”  Branson has its share of those, but the Showboat Branson Belle is not one.

The riverboat, designed to mimic the majestic showboats of the 1800s,  takes you on a leisurely 2-hour cruise with stunning views of Table Rock Lake in the Ozarks, especially from the top level of the boat.

After the ubiquitous photo op steering the helm (which you can bypass if you like), you are ushered into a plush, large but cozy theatre-style dining area.  Floor seating or three balconies, there are no bad seats.
